Assessments are designed to give students an opportunity to dance in front of an examiner and an audience, partnered either by their teacher or their usual partner, and obtain feedback on their progress from an independent qualified examiner.
Students learn to work towards a goal, progress through the medal levels, from Leisure Dance Awards through to Bronze, Silver and Gold Composite Medals and onto style specific Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals.
These are held twice a year, usually once mid-year and once at the end of the year. Fees cover the cost of the examiner’s and teacher’s time, the medals and supporting certificates, all run under the Dance Move Engage Assessment system.
